Task #2 & #3 update - Ellis

Honestly, I don't feel like I have accomplished much with these assignments yet. I was overwhelmed with the work on the one we just completed for today. I have been able to record a conversation with my student and transcribe it. I have also found some resources comparing Japanese to English that will be helpful. I plan to start focusing on these tasks now and hope they aren't that difficult!

    I'm so glad you could find something to help you with Japanese, Courtney. I borrowed an Amharic dictionary from my student, but it's not helpful. I found one facebook page that seems like it will lead me in the right direction.

    I never would have thought to search Facebook for help with languages. Hopefully it will have more resources for you Kristin!

    I was wondering the same thing - how to find out more about these languages, and where to look. Thanks for the insight.

    I think the internet is very helpful, type in the language and the specifics that you want to compare it to in English and many sites will come up for all languages.

    I was overwhelmed this past week too. After having finished the assignment though, I feel like it did give me more information to help me with Task 2. I'm really just starting on Task 2 today, though, so we'll see how I feel once I really get going on it. I may be going into my usual panic state soon!

    I am feeling overwhelmed as well. We have so much to do during the school day and meetings that there is no time to work on these assignments. I also have a toddler so at night after dinner, bath, reading books and bedtime routines I am finding that I'm just exhausted so I go to bed. I feel so far behind in this class but somehow I will get it all done.

      I understand, Tammy. Hang in there. I know you are doing a great job with your little one. Nothing's more important than that. I admire you for taking the class. You won't be sorry for the time you spend with your little one. You will get the work done.

    I also find it very interesting that you found information on Facebook! I am using the internet- but did not think of Facebook!That is very interesting and a good idea.
